Human skin color
Human skin colors vary from almost black to nearly colorless pigmentation, which appear reddish, due to color of blood in the skin. If the whole world has a single skin tone, then racial discrimination problem will not arise. What makes the difference in our skin so that we have varied skin colors? Two major factors influence the color of the skin, they are melanin and genes. According to the amount and type of the melanin pigment, the color of the skin varies. Genetics also plays a major role in the variation of skin color. As the concentration of the melanin pigment increases, the person’s skin color becomes darker. This pigment provides protection against ultraviolet light, because, UV light causes mutations in the skin cells, which in turn leads to skin cancers. We have a regional reason behind the determination of the skin color. For instance, the tropical region is greatly exposed to UV light so the people are dark, thereby providing protection against UV light.Eye color
Eyes have many different shades blue, brown, gray, green, mixed colors etc. what makes the eyes look in different shades? Eye color is mainly due to the concentration and distribution of melanin pigment on the iris fibers. Eye color results entirely from genetics. Brown eyes occur if iris is pigmented both on front and back side. When incident light reflects off the iris it looks brown in color. it is the most common eye color in the world. Black eyes, common among Americans, Africans and Asians, occur if the iris is pigmented very dark. If there is no or little pigment on the front surface, and when the light incident with that gray iris fibers and the iris stromal cells it reflects as blue. Blue or green color of eye is determined. Hazel eyes, common among the European people, a unique combination of tints including green and brown eyes. Amber, Green and Violet irises occur due to the presence of a brownish yellow pigment called lipofuscin or lipochrome. Red eyes occur when they lack in some pigment or if it is in a condition called albinism. Aqua and violet irises occur when red color interacts with blues and browns. When the melanin pigment from the back surface of iris is rolled up to the front surface at the pupil border, it results in a brown ring which looks like a blue eye. Grey eyes occur when light blue and green tints combine in the eye. Now-a-days, color has gained its importance even in case of hairs. Many youngsters are interested in coloring their hairs to a shade regarded as more fashionable, as it has become a trend. In spite of the existing trend, there are some other reasons why people prefer hair coloring. They are to change the gray hair to its original color, to return hair to its original color after chemicals have discolored it. There are many types of hair coloring like temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent and permanent hair coloring. Temporary hair coloring is used for special occasions like parties etc. this type of hair color stays only till the next hair wash and looks very vibrant than the hair colorings. Temporary hair color persists if the texture of the hair is dry and damaged. Semi permanent hair colors survive for 4-5 shampoo wash. They are safer for damaged or fragile hairs since they contain no peroxides, ammonia or developers. They look natural than the permanent dye. They do not lighten the hair. Demi permanent hair color is advantageous over permanent hair colors. They stay on the hair for 20 to 28 shampoo wash. this dye is more natural looking and root regrowth is less noticeable. Permanent hair color is a dye which consists of two components mixed together only before application. One of the components is alkalizing agent and the other is the developer. Hair coloring may cause Skin discoloration, skin irritation and allergy, also results in dry and damaged hair and causes hair fall due to the excessive usage of chemicals.prolonged use of hair colors may result some forms of cancer. Hair coloring can have serious consequences on our health when it is over-processed or if it doesn’t suit the person’s skin tone. so, everyone must be aware of the causes of hair coloring before using it and must take a initial skin test for testing whether the hair color is suiting the particular person skin.How to change colors in an image?
Things to be done using adobe Photoshop for changing the image colors are first control click the image that is click on the image holding ctrl key on the keyboard. This will select the top layer of the image. To know about the content of the layer selected we have to follow the steps mentioned below. Go to Layers panel -> Window/Layers, if you cant see the top layer. Now find out the highlighted layer in the layer list which is the current selected layer. To the left of the layer we can view the “eye” icon. Now click it few times to “hide/unhide” layer and view which image element disappears in the whole picture if that was the image in which the color has to be changed then this is the right way. If this selection is wrong alternate way is to be chosen to select layer with appropriate image. Right Click the image with the mouse then the list of layers under the cursor that is containing images will appear. try choosing different layers from that list. Use the above procedure to ensure that you have selected the right layer. When the layer contains needed image proceed with the following. Select Image -> Adjustment ->Color Balance or just click Ctrl + B. Now, the color Balance dialog will appear with three color slides with it will appear. Move this sliders until the required image color is selected. Now click on the Ok button to confirm the color change or cancel button to reject the changes made.
Colors in Web Designing
In web designing, color is the important and an effective feature in capturing the attention of the browsers since it is instantly noticeable. Appearance of the website gives an idea about what the website is. A web designer is primarily concerned about the color while designing the website. Different combinations of colors give different outcomes. The outcomes may be harmonious, deference, enthusiastic, playful etc. The color is decided not only with the taste of the creator but also by considering the basic elements of the color theory. Different colors have different psychological associations which the designer should be aware of. Creativity is the major factor that influences the web design greatly. Creativity in color usage gives life to the website thereby delivering the theme of the website effectively. Contrasting colors provide additive advantage in web designing by highlighting the key points in the web page. Mostly we use complimentary colors on color wheel for this purpose. Few good combinations like blue, green and turquoise, Red and black, blue, yellow and red, orange, purple and red not only adds beauty but also life to the web site designed. The meanings of colors differ from culture to culture, so the web designer should be aware of the color schemes before using it. Text color must contrast with the background color only then it will be readable. The beauty of the website lies in the combinations of colors since they are visual and emotional.
